The Three Swords, prolouge.The road leading out of Shadowdale was a warm, sun baked one. There were old forests on either side, floored with ancient loam and fallen branches, and their trees home to numerous small animals. Dorn Tallstag yawned and used his spear as a walking staff. A sudden gust of wind blew through the treetops and down the road, throwing a cloud of dust into his eyes. Dorn winced, partly because of the dust, and partly because of his inborn sensitivity to sunlight.
